Old Spanish cast iron cannons used to protect this fort	Protected lookout	This fort is a maginificent example 17th and 18th century Spanish military architecture. They were built by the Spanish to protect transatlantic trade. Because of this the site is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Spanish fort walls	From this vantage point to can see the view of the Chagres River. The fort sits at the mouth of the river.	Visitors to the fort are not all human. This white nosed Coatimundo enjoys the area as well.
